More Information

Instructions

1. Hold the brush between your thumb and index finger, with the bristles facing downward.

2. **Prep the nail:** We recommend using Magic Bond Primer to prepare the nail surface.

3. Pour Nomma Plus Monomer into a Dappen Dish and fluff powder in a Jar. Note that Nomma Plus is a primerless liquid, so primer is optional, but we recommend it for clients with lifting issues.

4. Dip the brush bristles into the liquid. Wipe any excess liquid on the dish.

5. Dip the brush into the acrylic powder, ensuring only a small amount adheres to the bristles. Wait for the bead to form on the brush. *Tip: A bead that is too dry won’t melt evenly, and one that is too wet will run.*

6. Apply the bead of acrylic to the center of the nail and sculpt it evenly from side to side, and down to the tip.

7. Repeat as needed for additional coverage. Position the brush at the base of the nail and pull it smoothly and evenly toward the tip.

8. *Tip: Sculpt the nail in three zones using a mix ratio of 1.5 parts liquid to 1 part powder.*

9. Repeat the steps above until a full set has been created.

10. Allow the nails to dry completely. Standard setting powders typically dry in 5-8 minutes.

11. File the nails to the desired shape.

12. **Optional:** Apply Dual Sealer as a top coat for an extra shiny finish.

13. Dual Sealer is a universal topcoat that requires curing under an LED/UV light.

To prevent your acrylic nail brush from hardening, always clean it with monomer immediately after use and avoid acetone. Store brushes with the bristles downwards to prevent damage.

Pro Tips

    **Prepping Your New Brush:**

New Kolinsky brushes often have a protective sealant on the bristles. To remove it, gently dip the brush in monomer and work the sealant out on a paper towel. Please avoid banging the brush, as this can damage the bristles. Next, soak the brush in acrylic monomer several times to soften the bristles and remove any trapped air. After each soak, wipe off the excess monomer on a paper towel. This process helps the bristles form their natural shape.

**Key Rules for Using Your Kolinsky Brush:**

    * Always moisten the tip with monomer before picking up acrylic.
    * Use only the tip of the brush to shape and blend the acrylic.
    * Rinse the brush frequently in monomer during application to keep it clean.
    * Never allow acrylic to dry on the brush.
    * Never leave your brush soaking in water.
    * Absolutely avoid using acetone on your Kolinsky brush.

    **Cleaning and Storing Your Brush:**

To prevent the acrylic from hardening on your brush, clean it immediately after each application using monomer. For a more thorough clean, use a brush soap or cleaner after rinsing with monomer.

When storing your brush, ensure it is completely dry first. The best way to store it is with the bristles pointing downwards, ideally with a protective sleeve, to prevent damage and keep dust and dirt away. Avoid storing your brush in airtight containers, as this can trap moisture and potentially lead to bacteria growth. A drawer or under a towel are good storage options.

If, despite your best efforts, acrylic hardens on the brush, submerge the bristles in a brush cleaner designed for acrylic and gently work to remove the residue.
